We collect the minimum we need to run safe events and make good matches — and we never sell your data. Here's exactly what that means.
What we collect
- Contact: your email when you join the waitlist; your name and phone if you register for an event.
- Photos: up to three photos so your matches can recognize you. (If we add ID verification as we grow, it'll be handled by a dedicated provider and we won't store your ID document.)
- Profile & preferences: your age, hometown, current location (only if you opt in), tennis level, what you're looking for, interests, work, and — only if you choose to share them — political leaning, religion, and whether you snowbird elsewhere. You set what matters to you, and we only show you people you're compatible with.
- Payment: handled by our payment processor. We never see or store full card numbers.
- Event activity: which nights you attend and the mutual connections you choose to make.
How we use it
- To run the mixers and match you with compatible people.
- To keep events safe — confirming you are who you registered as, and enforcing the Code of Conduct.
- To email you invites and updates. You can unsubscribe anytime.
Who can see what
Your matching preferences are visible only to your potential matches — never displayed publicly. Contact information is shared only when you and another person both opt in after a night. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising, ever.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers who help us operate — payment processing, the waitlist form, and email delivery — and only for those purposes. We don't use an identity-verification provider today; if that changes, we'll update this page before it does.
Keeping it & your rights
We keep your information while you're an active member and delete it on request. To access or delete your data, email privacy@lovemeanssomething.com. This website sets no cookies of its own. It loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, and waitlist signups are saved to a private Google Sheet in our Google Workspace account (with a form service, FormSubmit, as a backup if that is unreachable), so those providers see the request your browser makes.
